REUNION HIGHLIGHTS

MYERS PARK HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1969

In conjunction with its 50th reunion and inspired by the great examples of earlier classes, the Myers Park High School Class of 1969 undertook as its class reunion project to raise funds for the Myers Park High School Foundation.  The 15-person fundraising committee, ably led by Baxter Hayes and Jan Hall Brown, raised roughly $137,400.00.  "The Class of 1969 was very generous in support of the Foundation and the students it serves," Baxter said.  "Most of the classmates we contacted were more than happy to contribute to an organization that provides direct assistance to motivate and educationally support students whose family economic circumstances are below the federally-established poverty line.  The Foundation made it an easy sell, providing encouragement and materials."

Class of '66 Gives to Foundation

November 21, 2016

In a night filled with laughter and warm reunions, the Myers Park High School Class of 1966 generously gave to the Myers Park High School Foundation as their class gift. Raising about $89,000, the Class of '66 gathered together to present the celebratory check to the Foundation Board. And that generous amount grew as classmates continued to raise the final total!

As class member Wanda Musgrave stated, the class wanted to give "more than bricks and mortar." The Class of '66 contributed to the future of current and future students, making a difference for the generations of Mustangs to come.

Check out the video! Here's an overview of the night. You'll also hear from proud class members Sadler Barnhardt, Nancy Bowen Wiggins, and Johnny Wilson about their contributions.

Connecting at Recent Reunions 1955, 1965 & 1985

December 1, 2015

Hundreds of alumni return for reunions wanting to see friends and stay updated on current happenings at Myers Park. Alumni get the satisfaction of seeing their own children and grandchildren make "The Park Their Own." Over 250 hundred MPHS stakeholders attend the annual MPHS Foundation luncheon. Look for a SAVE-THE-DATE soon.

The Foundation is grateful to both The Classes of 1985 (seen in picture Jennifer Willis, '85 Reunion Chair and Marinn Bengel, Foundation Chair) and 1955 for making gifts in memory of classmates. All donations go directly toward supporting a student in need toward the graduation line. Special thanks to these classes for connecting and continuing a "Tradition of Excellence!"
