AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is an in-school academic support program whose mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Part of preparing students for college eligibility is through the introduction of AP coursework.
The MPHS Foundation is supporting students taking AP classes for the first time through the creation of MustangMVT (pronounced MustangMovement). MustangMVT is a program that will provide volunteer resources for four AVID classrooms in a variety of ways during the school year. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the educational experience of every Myers Park student by expanding opportunity, addressing unmet needs, and funding innovation. We are seeking volunteers to help two teachers in four AVID classes during 3rd block (10:30am-12:30pm) once per week on Thursdays throughout the school year. (You will not need to commit to every week.)
Come Mentor, Volunteer or Tutor and be a part of this new initiative moving students toward success!
